Local New
Jersey hotels If you are unfamiliar with the area, and are looking for a place to stay that’s priced reasonably, please be careful. Many hotels and motels near Newark Liberty International Airport are difficult to get to from the various roads (you can see them, but can’t figure out how to get to that part of the road). Some places have a nice looking ad, but may be in a dangerous neighborhood, or be popular for their “hourly” room rates. The following hotels are a short drive from the record show, with the exception of the Holiday Inn, which is a short elevator ride from the record show! These are not high-end hotels - you won't have a sumptuous terrycloth robe in your room, however, they are clean rooms with one or two beds, a couple of chairs and a desk or table, television, full bathroom, and may include free continental breakfast (roll, muffin or cereal and coffee or tea). Smoking or non-smoking rooms are available, as are handicapped-accessible rooms, and should be requested when reservations are made. The only hotel on this list we have stayed at is the Holiday Inn – if you stay at one of the other hotels, please e-mail us and let us know whether you would recommend it. (Rates were obtained in September, 2006 and, of course, are subject to change.) Kenilworth
Inn – Rate: $104, includes continental breakfast Holiday
Inn – Rate: $120 - $150 (Best-4-Breakfast rate of $145 includes
$20 breakfast voucher) Colonial Motor Court – Rate: $63
- $68, includes continental breakfast Howard
Johnson Express Inn – Rate: $90 - $120, includes continental breakfast If you prefer to stay in New York City,
you can take the
114 bus from Port Authority (42nd St. and 8th Ave.) to the record
show. We recommend
quikbook.com to find good hotel room at a reasonable rate. |
