One of 3000 CDs Insert: B&W artwork with out in June on Underworld Records & tracklisting lists both 10738 Millen Avenue Quebec and the P.O. Box 358 New Milford, NJ address. THE UNDEAD was formed by Bobby Steele, the famously exiled guitarist of New York’s most notorious and violent punk band, THE MISFITS. Bobby had moved to the Lower East Side two years earlier, and quickly became familiar with its desolate streets, where few outsiders dared to set foot. He formed Post Mortem Records in 1982 to distribute Undead releases. After recording his new band (Glenn Danzig helped finance the recording & also took the photo for the front cover of the album) he booked them for a debut gig. Thanks to some creative, aggressive promotion, the small venue was overwhelmed by punks who were witnessing the birth of the New York Hardcore Punk scene.  After opening for THE MISFITS at the RITZ on December 17, 1981, they became the first band out of the NYHC scene to ink a recording contract with a prominent label, STIFF RECORDS. STIFF was the seminal British punk record label that had launched the careers of THE DAMNED, MOTORHEAD, THE GO-GOs, ELVIS COSTELLO, and numerous legendary punk acts. Til Death was the first full-length studio album. Recorded in 1997, in Bobby Steele's bedroom in New York and released on June 25, 1998 on Underworld Records/Post Mortem Records. A promo version was available in April 1998. From its second pressing and on it has different artwork than the original pressing due to the vast amount of bootlegs that arose around the time of the albums initial release.
